Update

So it has been an awfully long time since I've posted. Harper is keeping us on our toes and super busy! She got her first two teeth between 6 1/2 months and 7 months. The same time she started to crawl! We were so excited that she picked up on crawling so quickly....but we missed the days when we could lay her on the floor and know she wouldn't scoot off somewhere! This certainly made us more aware of where things were in our house, on coffee tables, etc. She quickly learned to pull herself up and by 8 months she could stand independently for a short amount of time.

Jace and I took a short vacation to L.A. in mid-September. It was a nice break but we both missed our Harper! We were gone four days! Harper stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Tilley during this time. Here are a few pictures from that stay!

Harper is now 10 months old! Can't believe that 1 year birthday is right around the corner. She also took her first steps on her 10 month bday! She did it at daycare when I dropped her off. She is doing better every day..a few quick steps! She is tooo fun.

Back to work for Mom :(

Again, it has been a while since I've posted...I apologize. We have been quite busy the past few weeks with Mommy going back to work and figuring this daycare thing out. We thought we had everything lined up- our wonderful friend Ajia was going to watch Harper for the first two weeks and then it would be on to permanent daycare. Well Ajia helped a ton!!! We loved having lil' Harper stay with her b/c we knew she was in great hands! On the 16th Harper went to her first day of permanent daycare, mom was definitely worried all day. Daddy came home and things apparently went fine, which made me much more comfortable. That feeling lasted for about 2 hours and then they daycare lady called to say that she had a family emergency and could no longer take Harper. No warning, no "you have til the end of the week with me", no nothing. Harper couldn't go back the next day and that was that.

So I stayed home with her the next day and we spent the next day calling everywhere trying to find a replacement. Luckily we found one person that had an opening for an infant. We met her that night and this past Monday, the 23rd, Harper started there. We really like Miss Julie! The kids there are also great. Harper is getting more and more used to being there during the day and seems to be doing well. I guess it was a blessing in disguise with the other place not working out. We were also lucky enough to have both sets of grandparents and Ajia close to help out! THANK YOU!

Harper is really starting to grow! She is smiling all the time and really starting to giggle! It is adorable. She is also back to sleeping in her own bed!! YEAH--let's hope she keeps that up. She will sleep anywhere from about 6-7 hours then wake up to eat and go right back to sleep for a few more hours. There have even been mornings that I have had to wake her sleepy bottom up! :) She is also moving around alot. She will almost automatically turn from her back to her tummy in her bed (she likes to sleep on her belly) and she is always in a different position and place in the crib when I go to get her!

Harper was baptized on the 22nd with her cousins, Maryn and Griffin. We were lucky that all of our family could be there. Harper wore the same dress that all of my mom's sisters, my mom, my sister and myself wore at our own baptisms...kind of a cool tradition. She will be four months old on April 1st, I'll report back then with her updated weight and height. She should be on track to start cereal soon as well--we'll see :)

Long time coming..

I know it has been a while..and I apologize. Harper is keeping me busy!

Her 2 mo. appt. went well, minus the shots :( She is 10 lbs 2 1/2 oz and 23 in. long. She is getting bigger and bigger every day! Hard to believe she is 10 weeks old already.

On 2/3/09 Aunt Amy gave birth to Harper's twin cousins, Griffin and Maryn. We were so glad that they all were strong and healthy and were able to go home on the 7th. Say a prayer that they continue to be srong.

We are excited for G&G Bailey to come to town this weekend. We sure wish we could see more of them, Uncle Josh & Aunt Gina and Lawson and Brooks! We miss you

Take care all!

Night two in her own crib

Well night number two was a little more intense. Harper was fighting sleep a little harder, but we succeeded in the end. She completed night number two in her own crib! Mommy and Daddy are soo proud of her and soooo glad to have our bed back :)!

She also woke up in a good mood, not crying! She seems to be happier during the day as well-we are all sleeping better. Harper is starting to be more awake throughout the day and really starting to check things out. It is sooo much fun to watch our little girl grow!

1st night in my own bed!!

I know we shouldn't have started it at all, but lil Miss Harper just wouldn't sleep in her own bed. So last night mommy and daddy worked really hard with Harper amd she finally spent all night in her crib!! Daddy was so good with her and mommy, we are so glad he is strong. Mommy could barely stand to here her lil angel that upset--but persistence paid off!
Wish us luck on the continued progress!!

Holidays

Wide awake on New Year's!

Merry Xmas!!

Harper's first Christmas and New Year's was so special. We traveled to Grandma and Grandpa Bailey's on Christmas Eve. This was her second trip out west!! She travels so well--this makes things much easier on mommy and daddy too! :) She was sooo happy to spend time with G & G Bailey and her cousins Brooks and Lawson. We then returned to North East KS on the 26th to do Christmas with Mommy's side of the family. Harper got to meet even more of the family on the Mitchell side.
Harper was spoiled with lots of love and adorable gifts from everyone! Thanks for making this first Christmas so special everyone! We love you all

She turned one month old on New Year's Day! Can you believe it has been a whole month! Mommy and Daddy sure can't. The time has flown. She is changing and growing every day---we are loving every minute of being parents. It is truly an amazing thing!

Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks-I know I haven't been the greatest at getting these posted on a more consistent basis-I apologize! :)
